Fat Tolerance Test

The Fat Tolerance Test is a diagnostic similar to the Glucose Tolerance Test. It is performed to diagnose if a patient has normal or abnormal postprandial lipaemia. We provide a meal of a specific, well defined composition which contains 75gr saturated fat, 25gr sugar and 10gr protein (Lipotest – meal). Just 4 hours later, we measure the triglycerides in plasma. A value higher than 220mg/dl is positive.
